For smaller or more experimental performances, the studio theatre complements the main auditorium perfectly, providing for audiences of up to 60 people. A large corner window allows views onto the newly landscaped court at the heart of the school, and affords glimpses of activity inside. The space can be fully blacked-out and is designed to be able to run shows simultaneously with the main theatre.

Nestling at the top of the new Great Hall building is the school’s relocated dance studio. Clerestory windows around the space provide natural light and ventilation without compromising the requirement for mirrors and ballet-barres on the perimeter walls.

Adjacent to the studio are staff offices, changing rooms and storage for the dance department. As with the drama department, the circulation areas are also designed to provide break-out spaces for small group work.

The drama department houses three classrooms, plus staff offices and prop storage. Two of the classrooms are designed for desk-based learning for up to 24 pupils with the third, larger, classroom fitted out for practical lessons and as a rehearsal space.
