St Faith’s Science Hub
|Client||The Leys and St Faith's School Foundation|
Following an invited competition with five firms of architects, we won the opportunity to create a new Science Hub for St Faith’s, the largest Preparatory School in Cambridge.
During the design phase the Science Hub developed into the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Hub. This new Hub joins together two existing buildings creating a new interior atrium space as well as allowing the enlargement of existing Science laboratories and prep rooms, and the creation of a new project room. On the roof top a new Observatory and terrace opens up further teaching space.
Planning Permission was granted in March 2017 and teaching commenced in September 2018, after the works were completed in four phases to minimise disruption during terms.
