Our brief for the Herchel Smith Building for Brain and Mind Sciences involved converting redundant laboratories into modern offices and research space for Cambridge University. We provided a new public entrance to the building and improved the heating system, alongside designing a central courtyard and seminar room surrounded by open plan offices. In the Clinical Research wing, we also designed cognitive and consulting rooms, and a specialist screened EEG room for outpatients.
