We completed a phased restoration of the Grade I listed Master’s Lodge at Peterhouse, which dates from 1702 and boasts some particularly fine joinery. The work to the 1702 building involved the removal of many inappropriate additions and the provision of new kitchen and bathroom accommodation as well as a new roof and the replacement of all mechanical and electrical services.
This detailed conservation was carried out with the assistance of the historian David Watkin to ensure the greatest sympathy and respect for the history of the building. So his opinion may be slightly biased when he wrote shortly after completion that “Since its recent extensive restoration and redecoration, the Master’s Lodge can never have looked better than it does today”.
