Alongside the new Boathouse project, we were given the brief to retain and enhance 28 Ferry Path, which has now been renamed Alice Cheng House in honour of Caians Dr Cheng. The two storey Victorian villa, with a two storey wing possibly added post 1903, is on the edge of the De Freville Conservation Area. The post 1968 partitions and all communal facilities (except the Laundry) have been removed to create three, two person flats for graduates.

These flats, ranging from 38 m² to 54 m², each contain living room, bedroom and en suite shower room.  With the aim of retaining the existing building structure, kitchens have been designed around the physical constraints and are either separate or accommodated in a corner of the living room. The original Victorian features have been restored while new roof windows enhance natural light.
