We were invited by Dacorum Borough Council to make improvements to their performing arts venue, “The Cellar Club,” in Hemel Hempstead’s Old Town Hall. Our design takes advantage of the vaulted cast iron ceilings in the basement to create a characterful venue, with a fresh air ventilation system and new audio visual facilities. A replacement staircase and platform lift improve accessibility for all, while all changes made remain fully in sympathy with the original features of this Grade II listed building. The introduction of a first floor commercial kitchen further extends the versatility of the venue.
