The Master's Lodge at Peterhouse is the legacy of bachelor Fellow, Dr Charles Beaumont, who built this residence in 1702. It is one of the finest 18th Century houses in Cambridge. It owes much of its quality, particularly its fine joinery, to the revolution effected in Cambridge by Sir Christopher Wren in the 17th Century. We were appointed to undertake a phased restoration of the Lodge, a Grade I listed building, in 1993. The work involved the removal of many inappropriate additions and the provision of new kitchen and bathroom accommodation as well as the replacement of all mechanical and electrical services. |
