In May 1983 Julian Bland & Barry Brown formed the partnership of that name and established an office in Cambridge. John Cole joined them as a third partner in 1986 and in May 1987 the office moved to 33a Bridge Street, where an old building fronting the river and adjacent to Magdalene Bridge was converted by the Practice for its use.

The size of the Practice has varied over the years, with an average of eight architects. Each project comes under the direct control of one of the partners. We undertake a broad range of work and seek to produce original and harmonious buildings out of a creative partnership with our clients.
