From our earliest days, we have been involved in work for local and national housing associations, with projects including sheltered accommodation for the elderly and those with special needs. They have often involved making the best use of difficult sites and ensuring that the results are enjoyable buildings that sit well with their neighbours.
Rethink:
Design of a purpose-built home for Rethink (formerly the National Schizophrenia Fellowship) (1991).
Cambridgeshire County Council:
Refurbishment of a thirty-six-bed old people’s home (£0.75m, 1996).
Cambridge Housing Society Limited:
Twenty-six new sheltered units and a warden’s house (£0.75m, 1987).
Mixed development scheme including nursery, hostel for the mentally handicapped and housing for single parents (£2m, 1991).
Harvey Housing Association:
Revitalisation of seven Grade II listed houses for Harvey Housing Association in association with King Street Housing Society (£0.2m, 1986).
King Street Housing Society Limited:
Conversion of Edwardian houses into two hostels for the Cyrenean Community (£0.4m, 1989).
Granta Housing Society Limited:
Conversion and extension of three properties into twenty-five bedsitting rooms and ten bedrooms for vulnerable single persons (£0.9m, 1991).
The Foundation of Edward Storey:
Extension and conversion of a sheltered home for the frail elderly.
