Bland, Brown & Cole is a member of the Consultants’ Panel of the Almshouses Association, a role which combines interests and skills in both listed buildings and housing.
Cambridge Royal Albert Benevolent Society:
Since our initial appointment in 1991 we have supported the Society in a series of improve- ment and restoration projects, including the conversion of twenty-seven houses, the extension of a meeting hall and office and the provision of a new laundry and workshop. Our work has also included the repair of listed railings and stonework and the restoration of the distinctive clock tower. We also prepare quinquennial inspection reports for the Society.
The John Moreton Trust:
This project entailed the complete refurbishment and extension of seven listed almshouses to provide residents with a high level of accommodation. Each house was provided with a small private garden leading onto a newly landscaped shared garden.
Huntingdon Almshouse Charity:
Due for completion in 2008, this scheme provides eight fully refurbished houses with new kitchen/bathroom extensions within an historic town centre context.
